Ok this is by far my favorite thing to listen to besides the Beatlemania Mix and the Michael Jackson Soulful Years Mix. It's more than 5 hours of pure listening pleasure. I dunno why they're called "Elton", but these mixes are very dope, he's just playing music (live with no edits). He uses soo much good stuff and it's not your normal party DJ AM shit (which isn't bad at all), you can actually listen and enjoy this without getting up and dancing haha!

OC Fair- Fry or Die!

Today we decided to head down to the OC Fair to watch The Maloof Cup (skateboard competition) but forgot about one thing... It's the fucking OC Fair! I can watch the skate comp on the internet but when do you get a chance to fatten up on some good old fried Twinkies. Plus this was Amy's first time at the fair so we had to go big. First things first we had to grab a beer and get some food.




Started off with some fried White Castle burgers. BOMB!

Amy said she felt fat after the first bite but still crushed it


After we walked around for a bit we decided to get some fried Oreo's
And a fried Twinkie. Definitely had to share both.

Then hopped on La Grande Wheel




And played some games

When we first walked in Amy saw this elephant and she wouldn't stop talking about how she wanted to ride it. I thought it was a joke but nope!

I forgot how fun the fair was, it made me feel like a little kid again. Nice way to end a great weekend.

I don't know why this happens but it takes a while for me to realize someone is dead even way after it gets announced. When I was a little kid and my Grandpa died it wasn't till right when the funeral ended I thought about how he was really dead and I'm never going to see him again. I could tell people were tripping out because I just started crying all crazy as we were walking out of the church before the funeral procession. Like where was my mind when I first heard he passed? or what was I thinking at the viewing? Well this was the same situation with Michael Jackson's death. I finally realized he was gone when Stevie Wonder prefaced his performance by saying "This is a moment that I wished that I didn't live to see come..." Ahh that hit me like a ton of bricks, if I was by myself I would of probably started crying. But I didn't cry because I'm a man, a man's man, men don't cry we fight and drink beer (ok so that's why I don't let my emotions get to me when they're supposed to). Well if you missed it, here's the video of his performance during the memorial and I was blessed with a great quality mp3 of it as well. Enjoy!

Charlie update

Our Independence Day...

This 4th of July wasn't spent at the beach or partying getting wasted which is something that 90% of the people I know were probably doing, but with my family. I don't remember the last time I got wasted for the 4th and now that I write this I realize the passing of my favorite skateboarder is probably a huge reason why I don't. Around the same time Keenan Milton died I started hating those holidays that we take advantage of to drink and get wasted. Even though I still do the same, this is such a huge problem because people don't realize it puts them out of their norm. When I go out to party any normal night there are times when I know I want to get fucked up and there are times when I just want to go out and chill. You usually decide your fate but of course there are some exceptions. But when July 4th, St. Patrick's Day, Cinco De Mayo, etc. rolls around, EVERYONE pushes you to drink more, do more drugs and do more stupid shit that normally you wouldn't do. Who was really singing Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the U.S.A" (besides Lawrence but thats another blog post) this past Saturday? Or who really knows why we celebrate St. "Patty's" Day? Or how did Orange County officially turn Cinco De Mayo to Drinko De Mayo? Yeah you're really celebrating the fact that 4,000 Mexicans fucked up 8,000 Frenchman. Cinco De Mayo isn't even Mexico's Independence Day, it's actually September 16th. Why don't we get wasted on that date? I'm just saying, celebrate these holidays for what they're for and be safe. Keenan died at a 4th of July party in 2001. Yeah he's not nearly as popular as MJ but he influenced my life just as much and still will always be my all time favorite skateboarder.

This is a great article from Anne Trubek (not related to Alex Trebek) about how sites like Facebook, Twitter and Blogger are helping our generation become better writers. I think it's great because it's totally correct. I wouldn't be writing, reading or thinking as much as I do without all these social media outlets. Yeah my grammar is shit and the stuff I write probably doesn't even make sense but at least I'm reading and writing more than I have in years.
